Connect and Configure Incident IQ to Manage Device Actions in Senturo

Overview

Follow these steps to set up the Incident IQ Integration with Senturo. This connection allows administrators to perform key device management actions such as lock, wipe, unlock, change status, and view location directly from the Incident IQ platform.


Steps to Set Up the Incident IQ Integration

1. Generate an API Key in Incident IQ

  • Log in to your Incident IQ account.
  • Navigate to Admin > Developer Tools > API Tokens.

  • Search for "Senturo API Agent."

  • Click on "Create API Token."

  • Copy the generated API Key for later use in Senturo.

Note: API keys are only displayed once in Incident IQ. Make sure to copy and store the key securely before continuing.


2. Connect Incident IQ in Senturo
  • Log in to your Senturo account.

  • Navigate to Integrations in the left-hand menu.

  • Locate Incident IQ and click on "Connect."

  • Enter the Incident IQ URL (e.g., https://yourdistrict.incidentiq.com).

  • Paste the API Key you generated in Incident IQ.

  • Click "Connect" to complete the integration.

3. Sync Users and Permissions


After connecting, click "Auto-whitelist all senturo users" and then "Generate API Keys."

  • This will import all Senturo users into the integration.
  • A CSV containing each users API Key can be downloaded.

To add non-Senturo users, click "Download Template." 

  • Enter their email addresses and desired permissions in the provided format.
  • Upload the CSV file to add the users.

4. Configure Custom Fields in Incident IQ
  • To display Senturo actions within Incident IQ, you’ll need to create custom fields in your Incident IQ environment.
  • In Incident IQ, navigate to Admin > Custom Fields.

  • Click "+ New Custom Field."

  • Select Rich Text as the field type.

  • Create the following fields (names must match exactly):
    • Senturo: Location
    • Senturo: Change Status
    • Senturo: Lock Device
    • Senturo: Unlock Device

    • Senturo: Wipe Device

  • Save the changes.
  • Return to Senturo and click "Test Custom Fields" to verify setup.

5. Verify Integration and Sync
  • Once setup is complete, you will see Senturo action links on Incident IQ asset pages.

  • Senturo performs an automatic nightly sync with Incident IQ. For any new assets added to Incident IQ, you will see Senturo action links the next day.

6. Available Device Actions
  • Once the integration is active, the following actions are available in Incident IQ:
    • View Location – Display the device’s last known location and export recent location history.

    • Change Status – Update device status (e.g., Monitored or Missing).

    • Lock Device – Remotely secure a device to prevent unauthorized use.

    • Unlock Device – Restore access to a previously locked device.

    • Wipe Device – Remotely erase all data from a device if lost or compromised.
